Hi Zeromus, I had the same issue. Two things worked – One slightly the other permanently The first thing that worked was removing all power and holiding off button for 2 mins – on restarting – the system said new hard ware found installing broadcom drivers. The light on the front stays blue, but the Vista icon shows a red ‘x’, and no wireless networks are found. A day later it was gone again, nothing I broacdom would restore it.

Broadcom wireless device disappeared

I talked to hp technicians and they told me my card was defective and told me to replace it. This is what HP says is the latest. Proffitt Forum moderator August 2, I hope it works for you too. Yours is the third message I’ve noticed so far today with this problem.

Did not show up in the device manager and the HP wireless assistant only showed a bluetooth device and no wireless. Good luck, if I have any further developments I will post a note. Warning, Get it fixed soon and fast.
It’s curious that the circuitry can be broken for just the signal btw the wireless card and broadco, Mobo made by Quanta — seems they could find where the breakdown occurs and hardwire a jumper on up mobo — if the breakdown is at the circuit level a transistor or diode on a specific IC then perhaps replacing the IC module would be easier than replacing the entire Mobo and broacdom they could put some kind of heat-sink on that IC module, to keep it cool But if my hard drive fails and I want repair, then I should pay or hope I have a warranty.
HP tx1000 Wireless Assistant Issues
So I checked it, and indeed the Broadcom wireless adaptor is missing! Hey Peeps, I bought my Tx from my friend in HK for brroadcom bargain and last weekend the wireless card disappeared.
