DeLorme does acknowledge the emulator application is NOT in any way able to run on any bit operating system after Windows XP, nor will it work with any version of Windows 7. This driver is also not supported when coming out of sleep or hibernation mode. Does anyone know how i can go about doing this? I have a new Windows 7 64 Bit notebook and just about every program I got works flawlessly even the ones that did not in the “Vista nightmare” last year. That could have been a quirk with my Vista OS, but it may pay off if you were to uninstall and reinstall GPSGate selecting that particular option. April-May is the deadline, so I’ll wait. The file it says to download is an unknown file type.

DeLorme Serial Emulator
It sounds like you are having trouble installing the correct driver on your machine, which is the first step in getting out of trouble. This is a software based serial port emulator that allows USB GPS devices to eerial with two or more applications at one time. It isn’t necessary but it’s definitely a nice to have. DeLorme has made quite clear to me that they have no intention of updating or continuing support of the emulator.
Apr 8, Messages: This installation appears to run in the same way as a standalone Win XP machine, however it does not detect an LT GPS receiver connected to the laptop. The input is now running on COM 5 since i tried changing to a different COM port in device manager to see if that helped at all.

Was this review helpful? The comment about connecting your USB cable is also what I do to charge it back emklation later in the day and it doesn’t affect your signal. It’s time these emulators go the way of the actual serial ports, and that software developers get with the times and make their applications work with the new technology and with the capabilities most of their users want. I checked Delorme’s site, and I only see the 32 bit version it even says “not for use with 64 bit Windows” on the download driver page for the emjlation emulator.
